Love this video! Those guys were charging! This was a great swell!

Do you think your 9'4" would have held in at that spot?

Yeah- kind of mind blowing isn't it! No way would I have even imagined paddling out into that- especially with a stand up board and paddle.

I think the 9'4" would've performed similarly- lots of bump on a couple of those waves. I've found that when you get a really meaty wave you get going so fast that most of the board is planing.

This is a problem when you go to turn because you can't bury the rail and initiate a turn.

I've been thinking of having another 9'4" done but much more foiled so that in beefy waves it'll be more manageable (I've also begun switching out my middle fin to a smaller size and this helps too).

Oh yeah, I'll try to post another clip of these guys- they interview them and one guy says, "we were trying to take off in the steepest part of the wave so that we wouldn't get laughed at." Rad.

Next to Tom Kennedy's bodysurfing, this is the most incredible thing I've ever seen at the Wedge. Absolutely amazing and huge sack being displayed.

Impressive takeoffs. Are there any videos of them getting barrels? I don't charge anything over 6ft Hawaiian(on my Stand-Up), especially if it includes a pummeling at the end of every wave.

Hey Steve-

I heard that they got clearance from the locals before they paddled out. Those two brothers are life guards in Laguna or something like that... probably well known there.

These guys are a hazard, their going to kill someone with those huge boards and lack of control.

They seem to be pretty much under control out there !!!
If NOT... they would be killing themselves before having a chance to hurt anyone !
SUP IS ALSO SURFING !!!
Just like bodysurfing, boggieboarding, short boarding, long boarding, town-in surfing, kite-surfing, windsurfing, etc...
Opinions on this matter are just like farts...anyone else's STINKS !
